The Arkansas football team has introduced a new jersey patch to honor Darren McFadden's No. 5.
Only two numbers have been retired in Arkansas football history: Brandon Burlsworth's 77 and Clyde Scott's 12. However, McFadden's number has been honored, not retired, and a patch has been added to both the offensive and defensive jerseys.
“It's a conversation piece,”
said McFadden, the Doak Walker Award winner and Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007. He was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
