Lindsey Halligan Fires Prosecutor Who Resisted Indicting Letitia James
U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan has fired two career prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia, including Beth Yusi and Kristin Bird.
Yusi, a senior prosecutor in Norfolk, had pushed back against the prosecution of New York Attorney General Letitia James, arguing that the evidence was weak. Bird was Yusi's deputy, but the reason for her termination is unclear.
One source said that Halligan believed the attorneys to be leaking 'unauthorized' information to the press.
Halligan, who has U.S. marshals accompanying her for security protection within her own office, has reportedly been involved in another round of Trump DOJ purges.
