Son of ex-England football captain killed in tractor crash near Cirencester

Harley Pearce, the 21-year-old son of former England football captain Stuart Pearce, has been killed in a tractor crash near Cirencester.

He died in a single-vehicle collision on the A417 Old Birdlip Hill in Witcombe. His family described him as

Emergency services were called at around 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 16, with a report of a collision involving a tractor on the A417 Old Birdlip Hill. Harley, from Marlborough in Wiltshire, was the driver of the tractor and died at the scene.

His father, Stuart Pearce, is a former English footballer and manager, renowned for his passionate leadership and fierce defending. He spent most of his playing career at Nottingham Forest under Brian Clough, captaining the team and earning over 400 appearances. He also won 78 caps for England.

Stuart Pearce famously scored in the Euro ’96 penalty shootout against Spain after his earlier miss in 1990.
